Easy Ground Beef Philly Cheese Sliders

INGREDIENTS


  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 (12 ounce) bag frozen onion and bell pepper blend
  • 2 ounces cream cheese, low fat
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 12 whole wheat slider buns
  • 1 ½ cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

DIRECTIONS


  1. Preheat oven to 350˚F. 
  2. Wash your hands well with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat.  Cook beef until no longer pink, about 5-10 minutes, drain meat. Set aside.
  4. Cook onions and peppers until tender, about 5 minutes. 
  5. Add meat, softened cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper to skillet and stir to combine.  
  6. Place bottom half of slider buns in 9” x 13” baking dish. Top with meat mixture, then cheese, then slider bun tops. Cover with aluminum foil and bake 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted.  Allow to cool. Serve.
  7. Refrigerate any leftovers within 2 hours.
