Cooked Oatmeal with Pumpkin

INGREDIENTS


  • 2 cups old fashioned or rolled oats
  • 3 cups low-fat milk
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • 2 Tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice 
  • ½ teaspoon salt 
  • Ground cinnamon (optional)

DIRECTIONS


  1. Wash your hands well with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.
  2. Add oats and milk to a small to medium sauce pot over medium heat and bring to a simmer, about 10 to 12 minutes. 
  3. Stir in pumpkin, honey, pumpkin pie spice and salt. Remove from heat and continue to stir until all ingredients are distributed evenly.
  4. Garnish each serving with cinnamon.
  5. Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours.
