INGREDIENTS
- 5 medium apples
- 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup + 2 Tablespoons whole wheat flour, divided
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- Vegetable Oil Cooking Spray
- ½ stick cold, unsalted butter
- 1 ½ cups quick oats
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350° F.
- Wash your hands well with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.
- Wash and cut apples in half, lengthwise. Remove stem, core apple with a spoon and cut into slices.
- Place sliced apples in a large bowl and toss with lemon juice.
- Stir 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup flour, and cinnamon into the sliced apples.
- Spray 9 x 13 baking dish with vegetable oil cooking spray.
- Pour apple mixture into baking dish. Spread evenly.
- In a medium bowl, combine remaining brown sugar, flour, oats, and butter cut into small pieces. Use a fork to mix in butter until crumbly.
- Spread mixture over apples. Bake uncovered for 40 minutes until slightly browned or bubbly.
- Let cool for 15 minutes before serving.
- Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours.
