Wash your hands well with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.
Follow package directions to cook rice. Makes about 2 to 2½ cups cooked rice. Drain off excess liquid if needed.
Peel and cut onion into small pieces.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat and add onion. Cook until onions begin to soften, stirring occasionally, about 5 minutes. Add cooked rice and continue cooking, stirring often for about 5 more minutes.
Add salsa to skillet and stir in with rice and onions, cook until the mixture is warm.
